Central Park Elm Tree, 4/3/21

This enormous elm tree stands in Central Park, just west of Fifth Avenue near 97th Street. The vast majority of American Elms were killed in the 20th century by "Dutch Elm Disease," but a significant number remain in the park, comprising one of the largest surviving groves in the country.
